Expeditionary System Design
Conex box form-factor system enters active design phase for deployable manufacturing.
ForgeNest's expeditionary manufacturing system has entered active design phase. The system packages our full forging capability into a standard 20-foot shipping container (Conex box), enabling deployment to austere and forward operating locations worldwide.
The design constraints are deliberately aggressive:
- --Must be transportable by standard military logistics (C-17, flatbed truck, rail)
- --Must achieve first-part capability within 2 hours of arrival
- --Must operate on generator power with no external infrastructure
- --Must be operable by personnel with minimal forging experience
The system retains the same AI-driven workflow as our fixed-installation Agility Forge, but with hardened electronics, simplified utility connections, and an integrated environmental control system. The tooling library is optimized for the most common expeditionary part families identified through our defense partnerships.
Key design innovations include a telescoping press frame that folds for transport and deploys hydraulically on site, and a modular die storage system that indexes automatically based on the loaded job file.
We anticipate completing detailed design by Q1 2026, with a prototype unit entering fabrication by mid-year. The first field evaluation is targeted for late 2026.
